About me...

Who am I:

My name is Aidan Gilfedder, and I am a passionate creative: I am captivated by all things architecture and engineering, fascinated by both grand scale and minute details. I have developed my skills through education, learning Game Design & Production at Birmingham City University, and 3D modelling / Visual Effects at the National Film & Television School. Since then I have grown through various personal & freelance projects, continuously adapting and expanding my workflow and experience.

What I do:

My core focus is hard surface 3D modelling. This is shown through much of the work in my portfolio, featuring many assets and elements that are based off objects in the real world that have been / could be designed, manufactured and built, using rigid materials. This focus has been in line with my personal passion for Architecture and construction from a very young age, which over time has expanded to vehicles, mechanics and technology.

What’s next:

Whilst I will continue to strengthen my skills in hard surface modelling, I also want to expand my skills into sculptural / soft body modelling: as my interested have expanded over time, I also want to dive into furniture, clothing, flora and character designs, not only to bolster a more diverse portfolio, but to also get closer to one of my personal goals of building a more complete vision of the scenes, worlds and stories that I have wanted to create.
